Kinerase: Ultimate Moisturizer

Realistically, we know that more money doesn't always mean a better skin care product. Why is it when we see a $125 moisturizer, we wonder if we're missing something by not using it?

Why the Hefty Price Tag?

Kinerase is Compare Prices sold in dermatology and plastic surgery centers, as well as high end cosmetics stores. Known as a luxury skin care line; you may recognize their spokesperson: Courtney Cox. Kinerase uses Kinetin, "the substance that actually prevents plant leaves from drying out and withering."

Some critics of Kinetin state that just not enough research has been done. While they are seeing positive results, what about long term use? How much Kinetin is needed to get the best results? But the fact of the matter is, Kinetin is a buzz word in skin care.

To learn the nitty gritty about Kinetin and what it is claimed to be able to do for the skin, this is a great beginning site. When looking for products containing Kinetin, you'll notice it only links you to Kinerase products (a company owned site?), however, you'll be happy to know that if you're simply looking for the benefits of Kinetin, you have options.

The Body Shop and Almay are two cheaper options, however the amount of Kinetin in these products may be of lesser value than Kinerase.

But is it Worth the Price?

One thing we know about Kinerase (and Kinetin in general) is that it is great for sensitive skin and best suited for mature or very dry skin. Customer reviews show that while many people love the product, they are completely turned off by the price tag. Paula Begoun gives it a negative review, stating that it is not a great choice for day because there is no sunscreen, and that it isn't a good choice at all, especially for sensitive skin, because it contains harsh ingredients such as grapefruit peel oil which can cause irritations.

Anti aging products are top sellers because everyone is looking for the quick painless way to turn back the clock. Realistically though, nothing in a bottle will reverse the clock. If you have fine lines due to dehydration, plumping your skin with moisture will help reduce them. A skin care product will not get rid of deep facial lines.

If you're looking for an anti aging product and Kinetin sounds intriguing to you, I'd recommend you try The Body Shop's Kinetin line which is getting good reviews and will leave you with more money in your wallet. They also have the right approach by not claiming it will magically erase lines, just reduce the appearance.

However, if price is no option for you, feel free to give it a try. Just be aware that they have a 30-day money back guarantee on unopened products, but only a 10-day guarantee once the product is opened. That's 10 days from the date of purchase, not the day you receive it. For spending $125, they don't give you very long to experiment, do they?
