BB Cream Review: Tonymoly Intense Care Snail BB Cream

Our last post was titled "What is BB Cream" and I heard from many people who were intrigued, completely not knowing or hearing about BB cream before.? My sister even rushed out that day to get some after learning about it! I have a feeling you're all going to know what BB cream is soon because you're all going to go? try it yourself.

My sister couldn't wait for the international shipping of a Korean BB cream, so she picked up Clinique's BB Cream. (compare prices)? For me, I'm all about the Korean BB Creams right now.? While in Seoul last month, I asked the sales associate what one was the best and she immediately pointed to Tonymoly's Intense Care Snail BB Cream.? My 7-year-old was standing next to me, my husband and 10-year old waiting outside, feeling rushed I just grabbed it and paid, never noticing the word "snail" or the big picture of a snail on the bottle.? But I did notice snails all over the BB cream posters from then on out.

Snail "goo", for a lack of a better word, is well used in Korea for its anti-aging benefits.? Who knew? It kind of weirded me out a bit, I won't lie, but I'm all over that now because I love my Tonymoly BB cream.? I have a list of Korean BB creams to try after this one.? Next up is Skin79's BB Cream, which you can get for around $15.? (compare prices)? But make sure to do your research on making sure you are getting an original and not a fake.

Guide Review - Schick Quattro For Women

I've tried many razors throughout my life, because shaving is quick and easy. I haven't (so far) found a better razor than Schick Quattro for Women. This razor gives me a close, nick-free shave while moisturizing my skin.

At first I thought it was the four blades that made the world of difference in my close shave, so I tried another company's brand with multiple blades, but there was no comparison. Schick Quattro for Women gave me a much closer shave. I'm sure it will come to no big surprise that Schick Quattro for Women's razor itself is made in China, but interesting to note the blade cartridge is made in Germany. While I'm not quite sure where all other razor manufacturer's get their blades, this German-made blade may be the huge difference in quality.

The conditioning strips are another big plus. Even if you don't have time to apply lotion after shaving, the hydration power is just enough to moisturize skin without making it feel greasy.

Way to go Schick, I think you may just have the perfect woman's razor.

Guide Review - Philips Norelco BodyGroom 2030

I first tried the Philips Norelco Bodygroom with the shaving attachment dry to shave my brother’s few small patches of back hair. Other times I’ve just used regular hair clippers without a guard to shave it off. I saw a huge difference in the results. While the regular clippers often left his skin pink and a with bit of stubble, this body grooming tool was definitely gentler on the skin and gave him a much closer shave thanks to the special shaving foils used. I would highly recommend this for shaving the body over using regular clippers or a standard razor!

I then asked him to use it on his body when he showered, so he could see how it works wet. Where he exactly groomed, I don’t really want to know. But he did share that he used one of the guards for trimming, and it was quick, easy and comfortable. My brother is one of those people that is always in a rush. So I wasn’t surprised when he told me that he dropped the Bodygroom in the shower a couple times. Well it kept on ticking. This is no hunk of junk, but made solid.

I love that the tool has two trimming combs that each can be easily adjusted to one of the five different lengths because many guys want to take down some body areas a bit, but make other places really short. The extra sensitive comb is suggested for cleaning up the groin area and underarms. While the extra large comb works better for trimming down large areas like your chest, legs and shoulders. And even if you want to shave all your hair totally down, trimming it shorter first before using the shaving attachment will help you get smoother results.

Guide Review - Epilady Legend

I was told that I was going to be receiving the Epilady Legend to review and I tried everything to get someone else to use it. I even offered to pay a client and if she didn't like it, I would wax her for free for a year. She denied me and laughed. "Have fun!" were the last words out of her mouth.

I immediately handed it to my husband and told him to try it or he wouldn't get a home cooked meal for a week. He put it up to his arm and turned it on, then whined like a baby for a second and turned it off.

I was stuck trying it for myself. I read the directions and headed off to the bathroom. I took a hot shower and got ready to meditate myself into a state of being where I felt no pain. I lifted the baby blue and white torture device in my hand and turned it on. I placed it against my leg and ….

Not too bad. No pain, just an annoyance while the tweezers pulled the hair from the follicle. Just as I was getting into the rhythm of it- crash! It slipped out of my hand and fell onto the tile floor. It seemed to be a slow motion film as I watched the Epilady dismantle itself. First the cover flew off. Then, silver and white plastic everywhere! The entire guts of the epilator fell apart.

I had to wait to get the new one. This time, I was going to beat it. I went into the bathroom and just went for it. Before I knew it, I had removed hair from my legs, my underarms and my bikini line. Yes, I gave myself a Brazilian with the Epilady. Crazy? Maybe, but it worked and it worked well. After the initial annoying sting, it was fine. I am not going to say it was pain free but no worse than waxing. The only downfall was it did take much longer than if I had just gone to get waxed. Nonetheless, it worked.

I did notice that the finer hair was not as easy to remove. I had to go over the area a few times to make sure I got each and every hair. I also had some breakage of the hair above the skin. I noticed this happened when I was hurrying and going too fast.

Rose is one of my favorite scents. And this isn’t the fake rose perfume scent your smell at the drugstore, The Art of Shaving cream for women contains a special blend of 100% rose absolute and rose oil. One of the most feminine smelling shaving creams, it’s almost intoxicating.

When I first tried the shaving cream I got a little carried away and put too much on, it’s very concentrated as a little goes a long way. The cream is a very rich consistency, a combination of butter and a thick gel.

So it smells wonderful and is thick and creamy, how well does it work? You’re suggested to use the cream with a shaving brush to help lift the hairs, but I don’t own one. Even with shaving brush less, I got a super-duper close shave with The Art of Shaving cream for women. And even more amazing my skin was so soft, moisturized and was glowing like it had a facial.

Sometimes my underarms will get an ingrown hair or two, but I haven’t been greeted with any since using the shaving cream. Special ingredients used in their formulation to help to avoid ingrown hairs must really work.

The Art of Shaving, as their name contends holds up to their products. They have shaving down to an art, and a science.

The Spa at Woodlands Resort and Conference Review

In December I headed to The Woodlands Texas (about 30 minutes from downtown Houston) and for part of my visit stayed at the Woodlands Resort and Conference Center that is nestled around lakes, forest and wildlife.

Even though I started working in a salon before graduating, and then went on to spas, I never tire of going to either one. On vacation, I really enjoy going to a spa as it adds to the rejuvenation time away is supposed to provide. This trip was no exception. I chose a body scrub and waxing. So we all know that I love wax. I love everything about it, the smell, the feeling of spreading it on and even the perfect sound it makes when the hair is being removed. So why would I tell you that there is a great product out there when I can make money on doing it as a profession?

Well, we don’t always have the money to spend on extras. Excess hair is not an extra I want to live with, and neither should you. The Moom hair remover is great!

First of all, this product should be used at room temperature. Great, no burns and less chance of skin discoloration! Second, a thin layer should be used in the direction of hair growth. Then, using the supplied strips, remove. Simple, right?

Here’s the best part. Unlike regular waxing products, this is very forgiving. You’re not committed to removing your whole eyebrow if you are over zealous and apply too much product. Simply wash it away and start over! As an Esthetician, I cannot make mistakes on my clients but by the time I get to myself, I just go for it. Sometimes, the best of us mess up. Not any more!

This product is organic and natural, it’s not a wax, but a sugaring gel made in part with chamomile, tea tree oil and lemon juice, all of which have antiseptic properties. Chamomile is also an anti-inflammatory, so it helps with any redness or inflammation.

The mini kit includes waxing strips and applicators. They can be reused! Yep, just wash them with soap and water let them dry and viola! Easy as can be and of course, economical.

I think you will be very pleased with this product. Just don’t forget your Esthetician. He or she still would love to see you!

Guide Review - Ready Betty

There are still a few of you who like to use depilatories, and Ready Betty is probably one of the best that I've ever used. It really removes the hair, and fast. I usually wax, but sometimes I just can’t wait, and shaving has been my go to until now.

Although it did have the chemical smell, it was well worth it. In five minutes, you too can have a smooth and hairless bikini line. First you’ll simply trim the hair shorter to make it easier to remove. A pair of scissors are included in the kit so you don’t have to go searching.

One of the provided eight stencils allows you to create designs, but they didn’t stay on my skin that well. If you have a steady hand you can make your own creative design. The finishing tool removes any stray hairs for cleaner results and for more precise definition of the designs. If you don't want any hair left, that's fine too. You can also remove it all with the hair removal cream!

Here’s the best part. There are more than five applications in the tube. So far, I have used about five and still have more, so it’s well worth the money. Ready Betty is truly a wonderful kit for bikini hair removal.

Malibu Bridal Betty is a hair color for “down there” that will give the Bride her something blue, new, or just plain old fun. A few cute stencils will help to light a fire on the Bride’s wedding night are included in the kit. You’ll either get a dove and a heart or a heart and an “XO” that can be taken to your bikini waxing appointment. I wouldn’t recommend using them with shaving because they’re thin like stickers, and could easily fall apart when wet.

First, you must lighten your hair before applying the color. The smell of the lightener is pretty harsh, but, just remember it’s to get you the lively results you're looking for. After lightening your hair, you apply the very blue color for a 20-30 minute developing time, then rinse. You'll then have blue results that will make a smurf jealous.

I do have to say it is a little uncomfortable waiting for the lightener and the dye to work because it’s a bit difficult to sit down. You’ll probably be walking around like you just got off a horse. The smell is not so great either, but, beauty is pain, right?

Gillette Fusion ProSeries Irritation Defense Line Review

I'm sure almost any one of us have been plagued with razor burn, whether mild or severe, especially if we've tried to save money and bought cheap razors or shaving cream. Or if we've have ever been in a hurry (like I've been guilty of) just took a manual razor to dry skin.

But for some people, especially men who shave daily, really struggle with their skin looking or simply feeling irritated even if they use decent products. Newer on the market from Gillette is their Fusion ProSeries Irritation Defense Line that has a shaving gel and moisturizer supposed to help dramatically with these problems.

European Wax Center Review

At the beginning of the month I was in The Woodlands, Texas, which is a gorgeous suburb of Houston, and if you ever choose to visit, you most definitely won't be bored. Part of the time I stayed at the Avia at Market Street. Market Street is where you can find one of the 300 European Wax Centers (The Woodlands has two centers). I was extremely excited to try it out because I've never been to a waxing only salon, my assistant had the pleasure to review Uni.K. Wax Center in San Diego.

I had very high expectations for European Wax Center after browsing through their website reading about their wax and policies, and thinking I should have a perfect or almost perfect wax since this is the only service they perform. So what did I think of their procedure, wax, speed, cleanliness, and would I go back if they put one in my neck of the woods? Our latest review is of a product called Waxelene. (compare prices) It's a soy butter/beeswax product that is marketed as "The Petroleum Jelly Alternative." (Vaseline is Petroleum Jelly.)? It's all-natural, contains only 4 ingredients and claims to be able to do all of the things that Vaseline can do.

The product is thick and creamy and works wonders on our dry lips and cracked cuticles.? We're definitely going to make use of the product this winter when we're itching and scratching in our wintery, dry skin.

Guide Review - Philips Norelco Stubble Trimmer

I had my husband try Philips Norelco Stubble Trimmer who has been known to sport a little stubble now and then. While some men can’t carry it, he wears it extremely well.

He has very thick facial hair. But the Stubble Trimmer cut down his many days worth of growth smooth without pulling to an astonishing .04 of an inch- the shortest setting. This was all in one stroke over a section without missing any hair.

He also loves how easy the Stubble Trimmer is to work with. There are no guards to get the length you want. Instead you simply twist the middle section to a number that extends or shortens the head of the device. This makes grooming quicker, and you don’t have to worry about losing attachments or taking up more room in the bathroom. If you want to detail and make clean lines, simply remove the guard and have at it.

Another great feature is having the option of using it cordless or not. Fully charged gets you 35 minutes of grooming time and if it’s not charged, simply plug it in and cut away.

The Philips Norelco Stubble Trimmer is also a breeze to clean according to my husband. I have to believe him because cleaning is not one of his favorite things to do. You don’t even have to mess around using oil for regular cleanings. It really doesn't get much easier than that.
