Even with the best technician and products in the world, waxing can cause stinging for some time, especially if you have sensitive skin. There are products out there to calm the skin post-service and every waxing company makes one. If you go to the pros, the tech will usually apply it after removing the wax residue. Aloe vera is almost always on the ingredients list because it's proven to instantly help relieve some of the sting.
To make the effects of this plant even better, keep some some aloe vera gel (compare prices) in the fridge when you leave for your appointment or if you do your own waxing, about an hour beforehand. When you come home or after you've cleansed your skin after the wax, place some of the cooled gel on a cotton ball or square (not your fingers) and apply it.
It's also wonderful relief with any method that removes hair from the root, razor burn, a regular burn or when you've spent too much time in the sun (get more sunburn tips). Even without any burns use it to refresh yourself after sweltering in the heat.
