This thin goatee is the way to go if you don't want your entire chin covered in hair, like seen on Shaquille O'Neal. Since there is such little hair on the chin, I think it would only look good connected to a mustache. The challenging part would be to make both lines even, inside and outside.
You need a good razor to keep lines looking crisp. A big favorite men's razor is Gillette Fusion (compare prices).
